before you for the consideration of His Excellency the Governor.

Since my appointment to the post of superintendent of

the registration and parcel branch of the General Post Office

about 15 years ago, I was given the custody and control of a key of a safe belonging to the said branch of the Post Office.

superior officers that I was not allowed to keep any of my own

moneys in that safe, and in ignorance of such regulation, have, since my said agrointment kent certain of my own moneys

in that safe for safe keeping.

4.

I

Incidentally, I might mention that the keeping of such

moneys by me in that safe, have, on numerous occasiona, been

of some assistance to the general public, as it very often happens that in the early hours of the Post Office when the compradore is not on duty, I have had occasion to give the public certain change for their money a when public moneya are not available, and when such public press for their change in their hurry to leave for other parts of the world.

5. I may especially mention that in the case of European ladies are

not allowed to" or "we have not got enough change" &c. &c.
